Procedures if You are Awaiting COVID-19 Test Results

With the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases across Alberta, more people are being tested for the virus, so it is important to clarify RDC’s process regarding test results. All faculty, staff, students, contractors and guests who have gone for COVID-19 testing should not come to campus while they are waiting for their results. This includes:

  • People who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
  • Those who are asymptomatic, including but not limited to:
    • Those who have been tested due to close contact with a person who has the virus
    • Those who are linked to a known outbreak

As there is a risk of transmission from asymptomatic individuals, RDC requires anyone who has been tested to wait for their results and adhere to any AHS isolation requirements before returning to campus.

Please note that if you receive a positive test result, do not return to campus and follow the direction from Alberta Health Services.

Visit the AHS website for further details on COVID-19 testing and advice for people who have been tested.
