Description of Position / skills Required

Rimbey Municipal Library requires a creative and enthusiastic student to help organize and deliver this year's Summer Reading Program. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills and a passion to deliver programs that encourage children to celebrate the wonders of literacy.

The position starts May 1, 2020 and ends on August 31, 2020.

Primary duties include the planning, promoting and facilitating of all summer programs for youth and children in the Rimbey Municipal Library.  Other duties include circulation, shelving and processing of books as well as assisting patrons with various needs.

Certifications / Qualifications / Education

A minimum of one year post secondary education is required. The applicant must be enrolled in a post secondary institution in the upcoming year. Qualifications include the ability to deal well with the pubic, experience working with children, general knowledge of library procedures, and the ability to lift and carry at least 25 lbs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential. The successful applicant must demonstrate maturity, strong interpersonal skills and creative ability.
