Description of Position / skills Required

We are looking for an Outgoing & Dynamic Student  to Support a young woman with a mild disability , whom is attending RDC,  to participate in College & Community Events. This includes Social Outings with meaningful Inclusive Participation to build new friendships and relationships on Campus and within the Community.

Ideal Candidate would be a Female whom has excellent communication skills, great connections with the College, outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for helping others reach their fullest potential. You would function as a mentor/friend rather than a caregiver and provide the amount of required support for success.


  • Typically Meets new people and builds relationships easily and can be a connection for the individual to do the same.
  • Have CURRENT & established involvement within Red Deer College and Community.
  • Willingness to include individual in current social circle for outings and creating opportunity to meet new people through your connections
  • Lives an Active, Healthy Lifestyle with Interest in Sports and getting out into the community.
  • Previous mentorship experience.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist our family member to identify, plan and schedule evening and weekend activities offered on campus and within the community. Ex. recreational clubs and associations, social activities on campus on evenings & weekends.
  • Attend planned outings and events with our family member
  • Create, Support and Facilitate Opportunities to make Connections with persons of similar Interests and when necessary will be the Link for our family member to meet new people and build Healthy Friendships and Relationships by Expanding her Social circle.
  • Plan and/or Provide Transportation to and from activities & events and help coordinate alternate transportation when necessary.
  • Actively collaborate and communicate with the individual and family to reach our family members need for Friendships and Community Inclusion.

  • Hours of work may be day or evening, and will also require some weekend availability
  • This is a part-time flexible position, 8-12 hours per week, to start during week of January 13-20, 2020
  • Rate of pay: $18.00 - $21.00 hour pending previous experience.
  • Required: personal vehicle with 2,000,000 liability Insurance.
