Description of Position / skills Required

The DART Response Members will respond and attend to patients at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Emergency Room whom have disclosed domestic violence, responder will  provide information, referrals, support and safety planning to individuals accessing DART.


DART Response Members Duties and responsibilities

  • Hours to respond to calls are as follows:
    • Sun –Fri 4:15 pm to 8:15 am
    • Fri 415 pm -Monday 815 am (including statutory holidays)
    • Must respond within one hour of the call







Certifications / Qualifications / Education


  • Student enrolled in Bachelor of Science Nursing (Minimum 3rd Year),Bachelor of Arts, Psychology (Minium 3rd Year), Bachelor of Social Work (Minium of 3rd Year)
  • Ability in high stress situations and problem solve.
  • Professional appearance
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Exceptional client-service skills and effective communication both verbal and written.
  • Respectful and values the views of all group members equally.
  • Non-judgmental and accepting.
  • Positive and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact respectfully and appropriately with diverse groups of people.
  • Confident and consistent decision making skills.
  • Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the demands of the position and needs of the organization.
  • Ability to be an effective problem solver and resolve conflict.
  • Valid Drivers License and Reliable Vehicle with Current Insurance
  • Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector
