Description of Position / skills Required

My husband and I are looking for a kind, compassionate, patient person to help our 11 year old daughter who has a dual diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.  Our daughter is high functioning, creative, smart, beautiful and passionate about life. The role of the successful candidate would be to help our daughter further her conversational skills, anger management skills, general social skills, and practical skills that will help her to be independent. This will largely take place in our home. Occasionally, the successful candidate would also take our daughter into the community to gain experiential skills. This position starts immediately and would be guaranteed until the end of February 2020.  We are looking for someone to commit up to 9 hours a week, and we are fairly accomodating in terms scheduling, as our daughter is home-schooled. Payment for this position will be between $17.37 per hour for respite work and $20.11 for community aid. A current criminal record check is required.

Certifications / Qualifications / Education

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and it is preferred that they have experience working with children with special needs. Furthermore, a background in education and/or psychology is preferred.
