Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Reports to: EASE Teacher
Location: Red Deer, AB
Status: Part time position available (Monday through Friday mornings), start date August 23, 2019

Our team at Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is growing and changing and we want you to join us! Aspire’s mission is to provide hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them.

Our preschool program, Early Access to Supportive Education (EASE), offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with children and their families in a supportive, multidisciplinary school environment. The EASE Program provides a range of services to young children with special needs who qualify for Program Unit Funding (PUF). 

The successful candidate will be providing medical interventions and supports to a child with medical and developmental needs.  This successful candidate will work within a classroom team that includes teachers, therapists and Child Development Facilitators.

 

Certifications / Qualifications / Education

The ideal candidate will be a Licensed Practical Nurse with active, or eligible for, registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). An interest and experience working with young children who have severe delays or disabilities is a particular asset. The successful candidate must also be willing to be trained as a Child Development Facilitator and carry out the educational program for the child.  Current CPR & First Aid certification; Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector; reliable vehicle and drivers license
