Thea McDougall

Practical Nurse (PN) Program

Thea has been a Licensed Practical Nurse in Alberta for 16 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, most recently in stroke/neurology as well as public health. She has specialty training certificates in Immunization, Phlebotomy and Leadership.

Thea is passionate about learning and is currently in her final semester of an Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences. Thea’s love of learning has led her to pursue a career at Red Deer College. She has taught in the Practical Nursing Program at RDC since 2017. Her favorite thing about instructing is helping students to see and understand concepts in a way they haven’t before.

She was recently awarded the David King Bursary though the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta for her pursuit in post-diploma education.
