If you enjoy working with your hands and are fascinated with robotics and controls, the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at RDC is the place for you!

You will:

  • Use hands-on and theoretical approaches to learn both mechanical engineering fundamentals and industry-focused topics
  • Be prepared for high-demand careers in rapidly growing petroleum, manufacturing and infrastructure design and industries
  • Develop knowledge and skills, enabling you to:
    • Apply traditional and computer numerical control manufacturing processes;
    • Conduct failure and reliability analysis;
    • Program robotics and programmable logic controllers to automate and control mechanical processes;
    • Apply measurements, non-destructive testing, and statistics to implement technical quality control

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program is based on National Technology Benchmarks, and equip the graduate with knowledge and skills highly sought after in industry. When coupled with industry experience, they also will lead to the Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) and Professional Technologist - Engineering (P.Tech.(Eng)) designations through the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) .
