Jane was appointed 'Dean' of the School of Arts & Sciences in July 2019. From July 2018 to July 2019, Jane held the post of 'Acting Dean' and from July 2017 to September 2018 was the Associate Dean of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Media Studies and Professional Communications in the School of Arts and Sciences at Red Deer College.  From 2014-2017 she served as the Associate Dean of Science, Engineering, Academic Upgrading, and Open Studies.  Prior to that, she chaired the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences from 2005-2012. She joined the faculty at RDC in 2001, and taught introductory and advanced Psychology courses in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.  Jane earned her Ph.D. at the University of Calgary studying bioacoustics (a cross disciplinary study of biology and acoustics) with a focus on human auditory processing, psychoacoustics, and psycholinguistics. She is passionate about creating experiential learning opportunities through research and scholarship experiences, and has supervised numerous RDC undergraduate student research projects involving music and emotional processes.
