(This page is part of the official Academic Calendar)
Below you will find information about how we process applications.
If circumstances arise and you are unable to attend RDC, you can request an admission deferral once in the same academic year. Email the Office of the Registrar at admissions [at] rdc [dot] ab [dot] ca with rationale to request the deferral.
Appeal of an Admission Decision
Contact the Office of the Registrar if you have concerns about an admission decision. Either email admissions [at] rdc [dot] ab [dot] ca or call 403.342.3400 (toll-free 1.888.475.1101).
The application fee is good for one academic year (July-June). If you are currently attending RDC then do not take classes in a Fall or Winter term and want to attend again the future, you will need to re-apply and pay the non-refundable application fee.
Cancelling Your Program
If you need to cancel your admission, either email admissions [at] rdc [dot] ab [dot] ca or call 403.342.3400 (toll-free 1.888.475.1101).
Choosing Another Program
If you are not admitted into your first program choice, you will be told the reason and offered assistance to choose another program.
You will receive official admission to a program when all official documents (e.g. transcripts, IQAS assessments, Study Permits) are received in RDC's Office of the Registrar and you meet all program admission requirements.
Note: Admission may be cancelled if official documents are not submitted by the deadlines.
You will receive conditional admission to a program if you indicate on your application that you have completed or are completing the program admission requirements.
Refusal of Admission
Red Deer College reserves the right to refuse admission to any person.
All admission updates will be posted to your account on RDC's online portal: The Loop. It is important to log in regularly as you will not be notified when there is a change to your application.
Returning to Red Deer College
If you previously attended RDC and want to return, you will need to submit a new application and pay the non-refundable application fee. Previously submitted documents, such as transcripts, will be kept on file and do not need to be resubmitted unless they have changed.
Test and Interview Results
Test and interview results are kept confidential according to College policy and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. You may ask the Office of the Registrar for your admission testing results. If you are not admitted to a program based on an interview or audition, you can ask for the rationale from the Associate Dean of that program.
If you qualify for admission after the program has filled to capacity, you will be placed on a wait list. You will be advised if space becomes available.
