Convocation 2021 Virtual Ceremony

Congratulations to all of the graduates who are part of Red Deer College’s 57th Convocation! We celebrate your success in completing your program and graduating from RDC. We hope that you are very proud of all that you have achieved!

You're invited to view the virtual ceremony for Convocation 2021.

Open the Convocation 2021 program to find your name and celebrate your contribution to Red Deer College.

In June 2021, 1,619 graduates have become part of Red Deer College’s 57th graduating class. This graduating class is especially important to all of us at RDC, as you represent the final graduates from Red Deer College, before we transition to our exciting new phase as a polytechnic institution. Congratulations to all of our graduates, and thank you for your special place in our institution’s history!

As part of Convocation 2021, we are pleased to announce two award recipients. Brittany van Vlaanderen received the Governor General’s Academic Medal (Collegiate Bronze Level) for her academic excellence. Brittany graduated with a Social Work diploma, and she earned a GPA of 4.0 and four grades of A+ in the final year of her program.

RDC continued an important tradition in 2021, with the granting of an Honorary Degree to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of social, cultural or economic development in a way that has had significant impact on RDC, central Alberta and beyond. Danny Rode is the seventh recipient of the Honorary Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Degree in recognition of his 50-year career as a sports journalist, where he has shown astounding commitment to RDC Athletics and our student-athletes, helping to place RDC on the map as one of the best colleges in Canada.

Congratulations to all of our graduates and award recipients from the class of 2021!

Stay Connected with RDC's Social Media This June

In addition to RDC’s virtual Convocation Ceremony, we look forward to celebrating the success and achievements of all of our graduates through RDC’s social media platforms (InstagramFacebookTwitter).

During the first week of June and throughout the month, stay connected to RDC’s social media to share your messages with graduates, to view videos and to hear from faculty and staff. We may be at a distance, but our students are never alone. We encourage everyone to be part of our social media community in June, so we can all celebrate RDC’s class of 2021!

Convocation Flowers Support Student Scholarships

Congratulate your graduate with a Convocation bouquet! Once again, RDC’s official Convocation Flowers Partner is Stems Flowers and Café. From June 3 to June 26, proceeds from flowers ordered online through the Stems – RDC Convocation website will support the RDC Alumni Association. Use the code RDC2021 for free delivery within the delivery zone on June 3 and 4. If you prefer to make your order by phone, mention RDC Alumni when purchasing an eligible arrangement.

Stems’ arrangements feature ethically sourced, fresh blooms, and they are beautifully presented and hand-wrapped. This local business is proud to be RDC-alumni-owned.

The RDC Alumni Association supports seven student scholarships each year, and creates networking, mentorship and recognition opportunities for RDC Alumni. Initiatives like this one made it possible for the RDCAA to donate $5,000 to Student Emergency Funding to support students experiencing urgent financial need in 2020. Thank you for your continued support!
