RDC's General Awards Application

What is it?

RDC's General Awards Application, previously known as RDC's Annual Online Awards & Scholarships Application, will assess you for the vast majority of RDC apprenticeship awards.

How do I apply?

In order to complete the General Awards Application, you must have registered for a technical training period in the 2018-2019 academic year (August 2018 - June 2019).

Click here and log in using your Loop account username and password. 

When should I apply?

The General Awards Application for the 2018-2019 academic year is available as of March 1, 2019. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2019.

Award winners will be notified throughout the summer months. Be sure to keep your contact information (email, phone, mailing address) up-to-date with RDC to ensure you do not miss out on any scholarship notifications.

 

RDC Safety Scholarships

What is it?

By following the instructions below, you will be assessed for all RDC Safety Scholarships. 

How do I apply?

  1. Log in to your Loop account.
  2. Once logged in, select the Blackboard icon at the top of the page.
  3. Under My Courses, select "Safety Assessment for Trades Scholarship".
  4. Choose from the 5 modules: Hazard Assessment, Noise & Hearing Protection, Workplace Inspection, Incident Investigation, Naloxone
  5. Once you enter a subject area, you will see a table of contents including a number of titles. Feel free to access the external links for practice tests and safety information. Once you are ready to complete the assessment, select the one with the test icon () and click "Begin" to start.  You must receive a grade of 80% or higher in order to be considered for the safety scholarships.  If more than two assessments are completed, the highest grades will be used.

When should I apply?

The assessments will be available between September 7, 2018 and May 31, 2019.

 

Apprentice and Industry Training (AIT) Scholarships

What is it?

Valued at $1,000 each, AIT scholarships recognize the excellence of Alberta apprentices and encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship or occupational training programs

How do I apply?

While there is no application process, apprentices must provide AIT with consent for award and scholarship purposes.  

Award recipients will be notified via mail by November 1.
