RDC's General Awards Application
RDC's General Awards Application will assess you for the vast majority of RDC apprenticeship awards.
The General Awards Application is available between March 1 and May 31 annually. In order to complete the General Awards Application, you must have registered for a technical training period for the current academic year. Click here to access the General Awards Application and log in using your Loop account username and password.
Award winners will be sent notifications to their RDC email address throughout the summer months. Check your RDC email regularly and be sure to keep your contact information (email, phone, mailing address) up-to-date with RDC to ensure you do not miss out on any award notifications.

RDC Safety Scholarships
RDC Safety Scholarships are applied for by obtaining a grade of 80% or higher on two safety assessments completed in your BlackBoard account between September and May 31 annually.
In order to apply for RDC Safety Scholarships, you must have registered in a technical training period for the current academic year, then follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Loop account and select BlackBoard
- Under My Courses, select Safety Assessment for Trades Scholarship
- Choose from the 5 modules: Hazard Assessment, Noise & Hearing Protection, Workplace Inspection, Incident Investigation, Naloxone
- Once you select a module, you will see a table of contents including a number of titles and links. Feel free to access the external links for practice tests and safety information. When you are ready to complete the assessment, select the title with the test icon () and click Begin to start. You must receive a grade of 80% or higher in order to be considered for RDC Safety Scholarships. If more than two assessments are completed, the two highest grades will be used.
Apprentice and Industry Training (AIT) Scholarships
Valued at $1,000 each, AIT scholarships recognize the excellence of Alberta apprentices and encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship or occupational training programs. While there is no application process, apprentices must provide AIT with consent for award and scholarship purposes.
Award recipients are notified via mail by November 1.
