Canada-Alberta Job Grant
Giving You a Reason to Talk to Your Employer about Training
Are you looking to develop your skills and achieve greater success in the workplace? This government program will help your employer invest in you through workplace training. Talk to your employer about the Canada-Alberta Job Grant today.
The Canada-Alberta Job Grant will reimburse up to two-thirds of the direct training costs for qualifying programs and courses, with the employer paying the remaining third. Funding is available up to $10,000 per person and $300,000 per employer.
Your employer must make the application for training funding on your behalf. Now is the perfect time to advocate for the professional development you need through Red Deer College. Start the conversation with your employer by downloading and filling in this request-for-training letter template.
Eligible training programs must:
- Be 21 hours or more in length and delivered by a third-party trainer (such as Red Deer College)
- Be incremental (does not replace prior training investments or typical operational training)
- Be completed within 52 weeks of the training start date
- Result in some type of credential (record of completion, certificate or grade)
- Start within six months of funding approval
The program can be delivered in any location (including Red Deer College, online or at your place of business), on either a part-time or full-time basis.
