RDC hosts “What it means to be an LGBTQ+ Ally”

In celebration of Social Work Month in Canada, Red Deer College is pleased to host a public conversation that will feature the voices and stories of individuals who identify as allies for the LGBTQ+ community.

“What it means to be an LGBTQ+ Ally”
Tuesday, March 26
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Margaret Parsons Theatre | RDC’s Main Campus

During the presentation, a variety of individuals in our community will share their stories, and identify what being an ally means to them. This event respects that allies can’t speak on behalf of the experiences of members of the LGBTQ+ community. However, allies can use their voices to positively influence others to create a safer and more equitable society for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

The evening will conclude with an opportunity for audience attendees to ask questions that will be answered by panelists.

Each presenter has been identified to speak by the partnering organizations for this event: Red Deer College’s Social Work program, RDC’s Social Work Student Society, RDC’s Pride on Campus, the Trans and Non-Binary Aid Society, Central Alberta Pride Society and Haven.
