News Update

In a continued effort to inform our community about RDC’s response to COVID-19, here are today’s updates:

Employees Working from Home

  • The College continues to respond to public health directives relating to COVID-19. As such, in order to promote physical distancing and minimize the spread of COVID-19, RDC continues to urge employees to work remotely if their work does not require them to be present at the College. This precaution to work remotely is expected to continue until further notice.

Students’ Association Hours & Resources

  • Effective March 30, 2020 RDC’s Students’ Association (SA) hours will be adjusted as follows:
    • Open 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
    • Closed on Mondays and Fridays
  • The SA, in partnership with local grocery stores, provides RDC students with a 10% discount on groceries at Red Deer's Sobeys Village Mall, 5% discount at Sobeys South and 5% discount at IGA Eastview. To receive these discounts, students should show their RDC iCard at the grocery store check-out.
    • Students may also apply to receive a food hamper by completing this Food Bank Application if they are experiencing financial shortfalls. To help the greatest number of students, hampers are limited to a maximum of one hamper per four-month term and a lifetime maximum of three hampers.
  • There is access to online mental health resources, including an online mental health tool called mywellness.
    • Call the Students’ Association at 403.342.3200 or email inquiries as follows:
