Public Sector Body Compensation Disclosure
In accordance with the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act, public sector bodies are required to post online the names and compensation paid to:
- all board members
- employees whose total compensation including severence, exceeds an annual threshold. The threshold amount is adjusted from year to year by a percentage equal to the increase in the Alberta Consumer Price Index (CPI). Threshold amounts by year are as follows: 2015 - $125,000; 2016 - $126,375; 2017 - $127,765; 2018 - $129,809; 2019 - $132,924.
Red Deer College provides a Supplementary Employees Retirement Plan to designated employees who participate in the Local Authorities Pension Plan. There are no employer paid contributions until a retirement benefit is paid. The value of this plan has been calculated based on the calendar year and is included in the compensation disclosure column titled Other.
The disclosure must be published by June 30th each year for compensation paid in the previous calendar year. Once disclosure under the Act is completed and the information is publicly available, public sector bodies are required to keep their disclosures available, through the disclosure page, for five (5) years from the date it was initially required to be disclosed.

The Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act applies to:
- agencies, boards and commissions governed by the Alberta Public Agencies Governance Act
- independent offices of the Legislature
- employees of Covenant Health
