Giving to RDC
Our College, our community: working together to support students.
Give to support the RDC Student Bursary Fund and a generous anonymous donor will match your gift 1:1.
The impact of COVID-19 on our community has been tremendous. At Red Deer College, we have seen decreases in both new student enrollment and in registrations for continuing students. We know that the many impacts of COVID-19 have caused some students to pause or delay starting their post-secondary education.
At the same time, we know that RDC graduates will be at the forefront of economic recovery in our region. RDC alumni who have innovated throughout their careers and pivoted significantly through our recent challenges demonstrate the caliber of an RDC education. These community and industry leaders have been resilient in the face of challenging economic times. Our alumni and our future graduates will continue to lead our province to economic recovery by contributing to the diversity of industry in our region and finding creative solutions to the challenges we face.
Your gift to the RDC Student Bursary Fund ensures that the next generation of leaders can access the education and training they need to excel for our province. As a community, our combined investment in RDC students supports the growth and vibrancy of our region and sets the stage for an even brighter future. The generosity of our donors enables more students to dream bigger, reach higher and achieve excellence.
All gifts made to the RDC Student Bursary Fund during the campaign will be matched 1:1 by an anonymous $500,000 donation, doubling the impact of each gift. The bursary created by the matching campaign will be available to new and returning students in credit programs, beginning in Fall 2021 Term. Application for these awards is open now at rdc.ab.ca/studentbursary.
The RDC Student Bursary Fund is new and will be established entirely by donor gifts, doubled by the anonymous donor’s matching gift. Bursaries will be available for full- and part-time students, up to $1,500 and $750, respectively, per year. Bursaries will be distributed as tuition credits on a first come-first served basis. When the matching campaign has fully funded the RDC Student Bursary Fund, it will provide financial support to as many as 1,300 students. This is an ambitious goal, and it will require generosity of all sizes from across our community to create such a fund, which will support so many learners.
