President Installation Ceremony

 

RDC's 11th President, Dr. Peter Nunoda, was officially installed in his new role on November 12, 2019.

Dignitaries, members of the College community, and friends and supporters from our surrounding communities, all gathered to formally welcome Dr. Nunoda and to witness this important ceremony held in RDC's Arts Centre

Festivities included an employee procession into the auditorium led by Shining Eagle drummers from Maskwacis, who played an honour song. RDC was also pleased to welcome Kiya Bruno from the Samson Cree Nation in Maskwacis, who sang O Canada in Cree and English. 

Dr. Nunoda took his Oath of Office from Her Honour, the Honourable Lois E. Mitchell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. The College also welcomed The Honourable Demetrios Nicolaides, Minister of Advanced Education, as well as many other local, provincial and federal government representatives.

Dr. Peter Nunoda, RDC's 11th PresidentDuring the ceremony, Dr. Nunoda shared his enthusiastic vision for the future of RDC, as we continue on our journey to become a degree-granting institution.

"As your President, I’m excited to lead in a way that honours what strong foundation our builders have created, while encouraging a path forward that allows us all to realize a dynamic and bold vision serving more and more learners each year...With some imagination and creativity, combined with a lot of elbow grease, together we will fulfill our aspirations to support our diverse students as they become future community leaders in our region and around the world," said Dr. Nunoda.
