Pre-Health Sciences Certificate

We are pleased to announce that RDC has received official approval to launch our Pre-Health Sciences Certificate in fall 2018. This two term or 8 month, one-of-a kind certificate is an opportunity to explore RDC’s different health programs while upgrading missing courses, build a strong knowledge base and receive advanced course credit.

Deliberate design.

Healthcare is one of the largest and most diverse industries in Canada. In the diversity lies the challenge. Our program is designed to give students a chance to examine the roles and responsibilities of a variety of health care professionals, explore the healthcare industry and determine their suitability for health and wellness professions.

With 40 available seats, the Pre-Health Sciences Certificate, is perfect for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare industry. Whether a student is needing upgrading, unsure of their options, wanting to increase their chances of admission to a health and wellness program or just looking to pursue their passion, this program was designed with everyone in mind.

Purposeful preparation.

The Pre-Health Sciences certificate not only gives insight into the healthcare industry, it provides students a chance to prepare for the future. The integration of Math and Biology courses, tailored specifically toward the health and wellness programming at RDC, gives the foundation for success. Students who complete the certificate receive credit for the Biology and Math admission requirements for some of RDC’s health and wellness certificate and diploma programs.

At 22 credits, this certificate gives students a chance to experience the rigor of post-secondary education, allowing for flexibility to add academic upgrading courses to meet future program admission requirements or add electives to reduce the course load when admitted to a future program.

Absolute advantage.

Pre-Health Sciences is a first step towards a career in the health and wellness field. With direct pathways to enter into RDC’s extremely popular Practical Nurse Diploma; Pharmacy Technician Diploma; Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate and Occupational and Physical Therapy Assistant Diploma, the certificate provides students a chance to receive advanced credit toward these programs.

We are so confident in this program, we have reserved 10% of seats, in these popular programs, for Pre-Health Sciences graduates who achieve a Grade Point Average of 3.3, with no course grade below C, provided all other program admission requirements are met.
