Biography

Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB., Shane moved to Alberta in 1999 and began his Electrician Apprenticeship in 2001. He achieved his Red Seal Endorsed (RSE) Journeyperson Certificate in 2005, Certified Master Electrician (CME) in 2010 and Safety Codes Officer Certification in 2019. He is a life-long learner and has completed numerous other courses and certifications centered around teaching and learning as well as renewable energy, home inspection and construction.

Shane's electrical experience spans 13 years of commercial construction, 2 years in industrial/oilfield, a year in sales and 6 years as an Electrician Instructor. He is a proud tradesperson, promoter of skilled trades and community-minded. This spirit has led to him being a minor hockey coach with his local minor hockey association, Chair of the Skills Alberta Electrical Installations Provincial Technical Committee and Board Member for his local food bank.

At home, Shane enjoys watching football and hockey as well as the outdoors, whether it be from the comfort of his backyard or the beauty of Alberta's wilderness. If it's the winter season, there's a good chance you'll find him on a Central Alberta lake in a Montreal Canadiens themed ice fishing shack with family friends.
