This year's conference, themed "Truth and Faith: How Do We Know What to Believe?" promises to be particularly insightful, given the contemporary challenges surrounding truth and misinformation. As the world grapples with an onslaught of misinformation amplified by rapid advancements in communication technologies, the quest for truth has never been more crucial.

A Legacy of Peaceful Dialogue:

The World Religions Conference has a rich history, dating back to its inception in 1981 in Canada. Over the years, it has grown into Canada's largest and longest-running multi-faith event, serving as a platform for scholars from various religious traditions and Philosophies to come together and share their perspectives on common topics. From its humble beginnings, the conference has evolved, finding its home in different cities across Canada, including central Alberta, where it has been held annually at RDP.

Uniting Faiths & Philosophies for Understanding:

At its core, the WRC aims to promote tolerance, peace, cooperation and understanding among different communities. It provides a forum for scholars to delve into pressing issues from the lens of their respective belief systems, fostering dialogue and mutual respect.

As in past, this year’s conference will feature distinguished speakers representing a diverse array of faith traditions & Philosophies, including Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Humanism, Aboriginal Spirituality and Judaism. These scholars will address pressing questions concerning the relationship between faith, reason and belief. Through a thoughtful exploration of scripture, core teachings and historical perspectives, they will delve into topics such as the relationship between faith and justified belief, the role of philosophy and sciences in understanding truth, and the contributions of religion to our pursuit of knowledge and truth.

Embracing Diversity, Seeking Unity:

The conference embodies the spirit of inclusivity and diversity, welcoming delegates from all walks of life to engage in meaningful dialogue. Attendees can expect a vibrant fusion of knowledge, beliefs and traditions as they witness the convergence of different faiths and Philosophies.

By coming together to explore the intersection of faith and truth, we reaffirm our commitment to understanding, tolerance, and unity. Join us in Red Deer as we embark on this journey of discovery and enlightenment.
