Welcome to Family Residence at RDC
Welcome! Your decision to live in the Family Townhouses at RDC Residence has been a wise one. The close proximity to classes, the library, computer labs, study lounges as well as day care facilities for those with children, will prove to be invaluable.
Many of the people living in Family Residence are experiencing some of the same challenges that you may be facing: returning to or starting college after a period of time, raising children while attempting to achieve academic excellence, and attending college on a limited budget. Your neighbours can provide incredible support by sharing their experience and expertise and helping make your experience at RDC a positive one.
In addition to the people in Family Residence, the staff of RDC Residence are willing to provide support whenever possible. Feel free to contact the Residence Office with questions or concerns or just to say Hi. Enjoy your time at RDC.

Laundry Facilities
The 2 bedroom Townhouses have washers and dryers supplied in the basement units, and the 4 bedroom Townhouses have hook ups in the basement for a washer and dryer. There are also coin-operated washers and dryers in the basement of the Residence Administration Building and at the base of each Tower.
Storage and Safety
Family units have a basement for storage of your personal property, but not for storing flammables of any kind. Fire Safety Regulations stipulate that there must be 18" of clearance on all sides of the furnace and hot water heater. For an exhaustive list of safety rules and regulations, please refer to your Residence Handbook.
Toys
If you have children, please make sure that toys are not left in the courtyard areas between the Townhouses. The grounds crew will not cut the grass when toys are left in these areas. Please make sure that all toys are returned to the porch areas surrounding your Townhouse.
Parental Responsibilities
We anticipate that if you have children, adequate supervision will be provided and that you will be accountable for your children's actions and liable for any damages, etc. made inside or outside the unit and the College. Improper supervision and unacceptable behaviour of children can result in eviction from Residence. Children are not allowed in the College without adult supervision.
Community
Behavioural standards have been established in order to create an effective living and studying environment which ensures the physical and emotional well-being of all residents, as well as the protection of personal, Residence and College property. Any behaviour that adversely affects a person's rights, or is damaging to personal or College property, is subject to disciplinary action against the person(s) involved.
