Mission
The Student Ambassador Leadership Program is a dynamic team of student leaders dedicated to support one another, the College and our community through leadership and excellence.  Students strive to become confident global citizens through excellence, innovation, inclusiveness and community-mindedness.
 
Mandate
To promote Red Deer College as an institution of choice for new and prospective students while serving the Red Deer community through their volunteer efforts.  Ambassadors gain skills and knowledge that are transferable throughout their personal and professional lives.
 
Vision
Innovation – the Leadership Program is open to new ways of doing, being and thinking.  We encourage a proactive approach, viewing the overall scope and articulating a clear vision while engaging others in a meaningful way.
Inclusiveness and Community – the Leadership Program encourages and honors diversity through a welcoming environment.  Ambassadors will volunteer with various community partners in the development of programs and services.
Excellence— the Leadership Program shows dedication to excellence in all initiatives and celebrates achievements and successes
Integrity – the Leadership Program is accountable and respectful in all endeavours, encouraging inspiration of fellow Ambassadors and students at Red Deer College

How It Works
Progress through 3 stages of the program,  in which there's increased skill development and level of responsibility.  

Be a VOLUNTEER
-Core Training Level I
-10 volunteer hours
-1 skill development session
-1 specialized training session

Be a LEADER
-Core Training Level II
-2 skill development sessions
- 2 specialized training sessions
 - 5 volunteer hours
 - 10 leadership hours

 Be an AMBASSADOR
- Core Training Level III
- 2 skill development sessions
 - 2 specialized training sessions
- 15 leadership hours
- 10 ambassador hours

The Rewards
Beyond developing a wide range of professional skills, such as team leadership, marketing, communications and event management, you’ll also be eligible for:
  • Leadership Training and Professional Development Seminars
  • A Student Ambassador shirt and other swag
  • Networking opportunities
  • A Certificate of Service and reference letter outlining your contributions
  • Two $750 scholarships (as a full-time student)

Monday: 9:30 am-12:30 pm
Tuesday: 8:45 am - 10:45 am
Wednesday: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Thursday: 8:30 am - 11:15 am & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
