Make Art! Make Friends! Make a Difference!

Strengthen and expand your creative skills in this focused workshop. Broaden your conceptual thinking, art and design skills to complement hands-on training. Use materials and techniques not normally available in traditional programs. Learn the importance of art as a form of persona expression as you are mentored, motivated and inspired by professional artists. Develop your skills as an artist and grow as a person. The week will conclude with an exhibition.

Each day will include study in the following core subjects:

Drawing - Explore a variety of materials and methods that include charcoal, ink, form, line, texture and tone. The importance of observational drawing will be stressed.

Painting - Experiment with oil, acrylics and watercolour as you explore ways to express your ideas on canvas. Explore various application techniques and effects used by painters to create interest.

Sculpting - Create new, original works of art through fundamental principles of sculpture. Both realistic and abstract sculpture may be included using a variety of materials.

Ceramics -Learn the basics of hand building and wheel throwing. Included will be concepts on construction, decorating, glazing and firing.
