The Art of Pottery: Developing Your Own Voice

The art of pottery is a traditional format that has been explored by human beings throughout time. The class will include instruction in different ways for making pots, using both throwing and hand-building techniques, and firing them in an atmospheric salt or soda kiln. Ideas and information for surface treatments and firing techniques will be discussed and shared. Slides of the artist's work and of both contemporary and historical ceramics will compliment this hands-on experience.
