Expressive Portrait in Clay

Using a live model, you will walk through the steps and create a realistic portrait of the head and face as a clay bust, incorporating expression and life into the piece. You will complete figure studies from long and short poses, exploring the concepts of contrapuntal poses. Working from an armature and using an additive method, pieces will then be prepared to dry for firing. No Prior experience is necessary Students with more experience will be encouraged to push the forms further, working on expressive qualities and abstraction.
