Anatomy: Drawing the Figure

Examine the underlying skeletal and muscular structures of the human body with the goal of creating powerful, dynamic and realistic drawings. Each class will begin with an anatomy lecture o na specific body region, followed by drawing from the live model. Explore the expressive use of line, value, weight and volume as well as classical techniques in shading, gesture, sighting and measurement. Emphasis will be placed on observational accuracy and integrating anatomical knowledge into the creative process of life drawing. Basic life drawing experience is required.
