Mixed Media Printmaking

The course introduces students to expressive ways to use materials and processes in painterly printmaking. The focus will be largely on monotype and collagraphic techniques. Students will learn to develop a series of interrelated prints using stencils and masks, multi component plates and manipulated textural surfaces. Creation of both intaglio and relief surfaces, additive and subtractive colour treatments will also be examined. This course will include hands-on demonstrations and time allocated to work on the press.
