Red Deer College invites central Albertans to come and experience the exciting School of Creative Arts season. RDC’s talented students, instructors, staff and special guests will present the following events throughout the month of March:
 
Thursday Live Concert
March 2 | Mainstage, Arts Centre | 1:00 pm
From classical to contemporary, these variety shows of music student performances are a great way to spend your lunch hour. All funds raised go to different local charities throughout the year.
 
Symphonic Winds Concert
March 2 | Mainstage, Arts Centre | 7:30 pm 
Enjoy an evening of wind ensemble and orchestral music. Tickets are on sales now at Black Knight ticket Centre.
 
Falls – James Trevelyan Exhibition
March 3 – April 23 | Welikoklad Event Centre Gallery
March 3 | Reception | 7:00 pm
An art exhibit of paintings by RDC’s own James Trevelyan, a Visual Art instructor in the School of Creative Arts. He completed these works after residencies at the Leighton Artists’ Colony, Banff Centre, in 2015 and 2016. This event is free to the public.
 
Evening of Percussion Concert
March 3 | Mainstage, Arts Centre | 7:30 pm 
Experience the energy and vitality of world percussion, presented by RDC Percussion on marimbas, vibraphones and drums. Tickets are on sales now at Black Knight ticket Centre.
 
Mostly Acoustic Recital
March 9 | Studio C, Arts Centre | 1:00 pm | Free Admission
This free lunchtime concert showcase the talents of RDC’s music students in an intimate setting.

The Motion Picture Arts program is pleased to present movie nights on the big screen. Already touted as the U.K.'s best film of the decade, this "Clockwork Orange for the '90's", based on Irvine Welsh's cult 1993 bestseller, reunites the explosive team behind last year's hit "Shallow Grave."  Thursday screenings are licensed events for adults only, with alcoholic beverages available; Saturday screenings are for all audiences.
 

Solo Flight – 2nd Year Theatre Performance and Creation Students
March 17 | Studio A, Arts Centre | 7:30 pm
Admission by donation
After a 1000 hours or more of classroom and studio instruction the graduates of the 2017 Theatre Performance and Creation class are ready to fly solo. Solo Flight cconsists of fifteen, 6-minute one-person shows created and performed by each graduating student of the TCRE program. There are multiple characters in each short play with the actor/creator performing all ages and genders. Students require expert physical and vocal skill and character transformation not seen anywhere else in the performance season. Each minute of the 6-minute show represents dozens and dozens of rehearsal hours.
 
That’s Entertainment Music Concert

With classical, jazz, contemporary, solo, ensemble and everything in between, this showcase of the best music student performances of the year has something for everyone. Tickets on sale now.
