Red Deer College annual power shutdown - June 24 and 25
Red Deer College conducts an annual power shutdown at the end of June each year. This controlled power outage provides staff the opportunity to run and test the emergency generator to ensure that all of the critical functions continue to operate as required.
The annual power shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25. During the shutdown, the College will be closed to the public, and there will be no power or lights available. On-campus email will also not be available, but offsite access to RDC email is expected to continue, as normal.
On June 24 and 25, additional maintenance work will be conducted, including:
- Work on the water lines; please note that there will be no water available in the main building or the residence towers
- Replacement of the UPS (uninterrupted power supply) unit in the Library Information Common; please note that Information Technology in the Library will continue to be impacted on Monday, June 26 for a portion of the day
