Central Albertans invited to enjoy the stories and creativity of the 2017-18 School of Creative Arts season
Red Deer College invites central Albertans to join us as the School of Creative Arts students bring creativity to life throughout an exciting new season. The diverse variety of performances, concerts, screenings and exhibitions will provide quality entertainment options for all central Albertans to enjoy.
“Each season, we take great pride in presenting a wide variety of offerings in music, film, live theatre and visual art,” says Jason Frizzell, Dean, School of Creative Arts. “This year features a mix of regular features such as recitals and exhibitions from our expert faculty well as some new and expanded offerings, including monthly screenings from the Edmonton Movie Club.”
“We are always excited to offer our audiences the opportunity to be transported to different places, times, and experiences, through the range of classic and original works we present.” Frizzell is also proud to note that behind every creative work is a learner. “From first year students just beginning their formal training to fourth year students presenting final projects for their applied degrees as well as our faculty who continue to be students of their craft, every piece and presentation is a demonstration of where they are at in their creative journey.”
“It’s critical for us to remember that the pieces we hear, see, and experience are all part of the students learning journey and pathway. The finished products are certainly impressive but the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that these students develop along the way are what our core business is all about.”
