Visual Art Exhibitions


See what inspires our talented Visual Art students and faculty. Visual Art student work is exhibited all year in our various professional galleries: Welikoklad Event Centre Gallery located downtown Red Deer, Student Learning Gallery (ground floor) and the Knock Knock Gallery (second floor) in the Four Centres building on main campus. All exhibitions are free to come explore. 

Selected Prints from the Red Deer College Permanent Collection
September 1 – November 10

Welikoklad Event Centre Gallery
The Red Deer College Permanent Art Collection houses over 1000 individual pieces of art in media ranging from painting to bronze sculpture to drawings and photographs. While the collection has a diverse range of artists from all over the world, it does focus on Canadian artists and specifically Albertan artists. This selection is focusing on Canadian Printmakers. Starting in September Selected Prints from the Red Deer College Permanent Collection will be up throughout the year between other exhibitions.

The ART310 Professional Practice course for Visual Art Student cumulates with the exhibition in which the students are in change of all aspects of the exhibition. Come see creativity at its best and meet our inspiring young artists!

Red Deer College Visual Art Alumni Exhibition
March 9 – April 27

Many former students from the Visual Art Program have gone on to have excellent and notable careers as artists. This exhibition will focus on a few that have cultivated a practice in the Central Alberta area.

Visual Art student work will be displayed year-round in our two on-campus galleries in the Four Centres Building. Knock Knock Gallery is located on the second floor, and the Student Learning Gallery is on the main level of the Four Centres Building on the Red Deer College Campus.
