Alicia Cafferata-Arnett

Biography

Alicia Cafferata-Arnett has been at Red Deer Polytechnic helping companies, entrepreneurs, and students succeed since 2008. As an Applied Research Specialist, she acts as the portal into the larger Alberta Innovation Network for the Centres for Manufacturing and Energy Innovation. Alicia is involved in multiple industrial projects and is particularly effective at helping clients to access grants and funding. 

After graduating from Trent University with a Bachelor of Chemical Physics, Alicia then completed her Masters in Wood Science at the University of British Columbia. Her years of industry experience include time as a technical representative for a pulp and paper company, performing process improvement and product development for a forest products company, and as a technical coordinator at an oriented strand board mill in Drayton Valley. 

One of the first employees in the Applied Research Department, Alicia has been essential to developing the regional innovation network at Red Deer Polytechnic. She is highly connected to the innovation ecosystem in Alberta and has been involved as a co-chair of the Central Alberta Regional Innovation Network (CARIN) since its inception, working to connect entrepreneurs to the right service at the right time.
